With the summer heat as a reminder, your weekend getaway doesn’t have to be that far.

In fact, there are more than 300 Airbnb hosts across the state of Alabama that offer a number of experiences from the beaches of the Gulf Coast to cabins on the lake.

Airbnb is an online service that allows hosts to list their properties available for short-term rentals, and travelers can then book lodging for vacations or business trips.

Gulf Front Studio on the beach in Orange Beach

This 2-bed, 1-bath has a direct gulf front view of the beach, which includes a private balcony to accommodate. The 400-square-foot cabin is an off-the-grid house on the banks of the Locust Fork River and standing on an 85-acre property in Jefferson County. It’s right off I-65, 30 minutes north of Birmingham and is perfect for social distancing.

This storybook castle is located in charming Fairhope. Sheldon Castle is a registered Baldwin County Historic home. It is a unique, artistic structure right in Fairhope but secluded on a side street. The Eastern Shore Art Center is across the street.
